About Us

Jabulani is situated in Parkwood which has been classified as a Zone of Poverty by the Department of Social Development. The community has a high incidence of substance abuse, high levels of crime and violence, unemployment, high incidence of HIV/Aids, single parent, child and/or grandparents headed households, poverty and other social ills. The young and aged are the most impacted by the foregoing and daily go to bed without any sustenance. Jabulani was started during the 1980’s to specifically feed these children and elderly.
Yasmine Abrahams, the Founder and Chairperson of the organisation, has made it her and her families life’s work to feed and be a mother to all in this community. She started off with one 6m container initially, only being able to provide 1 meal per week but with the assistance of you and other sponsors we have grown and now provide meals daily Mondays to Saturdays. Jabulani also provides support to other organisations in other disadvantaged communities.

“To create an environment of safety for children and elderly in Parkwood. A zone of poverty, classified by the Department of Social Welfare. ”

“To provide support to other organisations in disadvantaged communities”

“To teach that one is never too disadvantaged to serve and assist others in the community”
